Mountain Pass

“Sure, we had a route that Bob planned, but we just changed it when it suited. No one else knew where we were, we hardly contacted home at all, we just rode.
And by god did we ride...”

   -- R.P.
“If you come to a fork in the road, take it.”
   -- Yogi Berra
THE RIDE’S THE THING

In nearly forty years of motorcycling, we’ve found that maximum enjoyment of the sport-touring phenomenon requires a certain mindset that comes only with time and miles. We think of it as the rhythm of the road: At a certain point, external distractions fade away, and your entire world shrinks to a small bubble around motorcycle and rider. This is the point at which your mind fully lets go of the niggling distractions of daily life and becomes one with The Ride. And The Ride’s the thing.

Our routes are generally full-day rides. Daily mileage varies, averaging 200 miles, but we generally don’t spend a lot of time in midday stopping for a two hour lunch or shopping soiree. There’s just too much to see and do in this great state!

THE STORY BEHIND THE RIDE

Colorado is a motorcycling paradise, but it’s also a land rich in geology, history and culture. We’re interested in the story behind the ride, and we’re betting that you are too. So we include in our tour packages ample opportunity to learn about Colorado’s unique heritage. Our discretionary days are scheduled to afford plenty of options. Explore Anasazi ruins, ride a historic narrow-gauge train, descend into the depths of an old silver mine. Take a hike, and soak away the road hum in a hot spring.

Some of our tours include demonstrations by Native American dancers, a Mountain Man reenactment, even a western novelist/storyteller. Your touring experience will be greatly enhanced by your exposure to Colorado’s rich heritage.
