| The AUGUST INDEPENDENCE TOUR combines the best elements of our other mountain tours, in a great six-day package. Traveling up and over numerous scenic passes, we’ll ride through old mining camps, peaceful mountain villages and big sky ranch country. After an invigorating ride up the incomparable Million Dollar Highway, we’ll soak away the road hum in the hot springs of Ouray, the famous “Switzerland of America.”
We’ll make our way up America’s highest paved road on 14,260’ Mt. Evans. From the top of the world, we’ll share the views with Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep and other brave travelers! Then it’s on to the breathtaking, high-altitude Trail Ridge Road. This is a ride everyone talks about: climbing from 8000’ to 12,000’ in elevation, we’ll pass through dense forest and emerge above treeline, stopping at pullouts to enjoy the rugged mountain scenery.
